"שמע ישראל יהוה אלהינו יהוה אחד" "Listen Israel - God our god, God is ONE"
This holy Hebrew Mantra, represents the core of monotheism. רמב"ם = Mimonedies, uses it as the third verse to enforce monotheism. The first two verses are the first two commandments… "אנכי יהוה" = "I am YHVH" and "לא יהיה לך אלהים אחרים" = "You will not have another god", both from the Ten Commandments. The strict rule of having only ONE god is the essence of monotheism. Judaism historically, is the oldest monotheistic religion practiced today. Judaism split in the first two centuries CE. The younger sect, Christianity, typologically, searched for references of threes to justify its holy trilogy. Another example is "קדוש קדוש קדוש" = "Holy holy holy" (Isaiah 6). I will refrain from explaining the trilogy as I do not understand or follow in any way its logic. What I want to question in this entry, is the contradiction Islam has to this vital law. The law that unites God as ONE, whole, undivided, and all good.
Israel's situation at the moment is war, defending itself on two fronts. Both battles are in defense against the 'Holy Islamic Jihad'. In the south Sunni Hammas, in the north Shii Hezbollah.
Islam means peace. (Even sounds like the Hebrew word peace = שלום)
Islam's first vow: "There is no other god other then God."
The situation: The same ONE God is being called upon on both fronts of the war.
Islam, 600 years junior to Christianity, fought to correct the mistake Christianity made when breaking from Judaism, and unite God to be one unquestioned, undivided power. Such values were appreciated by Jews, and thus Islam and Judaism, interacted immensely in the past. Muslims and Jews were approved to pray together in the same houses of worship, both resenting pictorial icons of biblical figures and of course, any physical description of the metaphysical God, popular in Christian worship centers.
History has seen borders shift, yet one rule remained constant in both Semite, cousin, religions. There is one God, no other; any division, or plural gods, is blasphemy. The singularity of God is the highest principal. Whilst Judaism respects the younger 'monotheistic' religions, for being the pavers of the Masia = משיח, Islam has two options for someone who is not a Muslim. Its very simple, one has two options:
1. The way of the book = Believe in the one God
2. The way of the sword = Die For centuries Islam had a certain respect for the Jews as they believed in the 'same' ONE God.
This amicable relation ended with the sprouting of Zionism and the return of the Jews to Israel. This reuniting of the dispersed nation, to its native home land, was a slap in the face and in contradiction to Islamic prophecy. Instead of the 'Sultans pool', and 'Gey Ben Hinom' filling with Jewish blood, its banner, a cable holding a chest, was used when Jews in the walls, were under siege. It enabled transportation of food and medicine. In 1988 Fillipe Peti, demonstrated a walking balancing act, on the line as a sign of piece. Till today, in its basin art music and festivity flourish. Above it, space and stars are illuminated, cracking and explosions emphasize freedom and festivity.
Jewish Zionism became a threat to the justification of territorial Islam. It became the enemy. Masses were taught to hate, destroy, and kill. Fighting for a holy religious cause. Fighting a 'Holy Jihad' = 'War in the name of God'. This War in God's name is somewhat a contradiction. God being Love, makes this equation impossible, "War in the name of Love"? Hate becomes the reason for Love, destruction love's home, and murders its way to make love? Does this make sense to anyone? Ok, for argument sake, let us approve this scary irrational equation and try understanding it from another angle. Fighting Israel in the name of God? Fighting the Jews in the name of God? The Jews were the first to grasp the concept of a single, almighty, ruler of creation and sustainer of existence. This Israelite nation was chosen by the ONE God, to make his name known and exalted among all of Earths inhabitants. Christianity and Islam adopted its values, announcing Gods existence, and power. Islam enforced the Oneness and sole existence of the creator. With all these values worshipped, how can a religious Muslim claim a holy war against Israel? In the name of God how can one fight the nation who first realized Gods existence? (Remember God is not bound by time or space, thus for God time is not an issue, God's decisions are not bound to change in our perception of ticking time). On the one front, Islam calls on God as reason for their attack. On the other, Jews call on God to protect them from evil, defend them from their oppressors, praying and fighting back to defend the holiest gift of creation - life. Is it possible for the same entity of God to fight himself? Would that not be dividing God into two halves? Or is it the whole ONE God fighting the other whole ONE God? If so can there be two? 1+1=2? Or still does God remain ONE? Dividing him up, causing a contradiction within him, or even multiplying him is un accepted.
Basically my point is that opening a 'HOLY WAR in the name of God' against Zionism, is full of contradictions. Its downfall being the simple impossible mathematical calculation that divides, or multiplies God, and still believes with no doubt that the Oneness and Unity of the ONE are still intact, in order to declare a Holy Muslim religious war. How is it possible to justify how one believer in God, is legitimate of killing an older believer in the SAME God? If Islam calls to attack in Gods name and Israel call him in Defense, is it not the Attacker that initially inflicts God to separate into two? Is that not in contradiction to the fundamental Islamic law? War in the name of Love?
